    Somchem booklet is your friend.

    Try 23 - 25.5gr S321 behind a 55gr FMJ

http://www.somchemreload.com/search?c=8&f=23 - link to the Somchem website. Gives you the loading data as well as the case overall length, etc. Just keep in mind that they use a 24" barrel, so if you have a shorter barrel you won't get the same velocity and loading the rounds "hot" will only equate to more recoil and a bigger flash & noise. With my LM5 and its 13" barrel loading it to 25gr works the best for me and it's the easiest to remember.

Always start at the minimum and then work up. I find that the minimum charge is extremely accurate and easy on brass, cycles both an LM and several AR's

I agree on your statement. There was a previous post where damage was caused by seemingly mild loads of S321 - be careful. The loads in Somchem manual are for bolt rifles.

    Hi,

Looking for some further load data please. I am shooting a 223 AR15 14.5" barrel with a 1:9 twist. I want to tighten up my grouping at 100m.

    Currently using the following load:
    55gr Frontier
    24gr S321
    COL 57mm

    So far:
    1" grouping at 25m and 50m
    6" grouping at 100m

    Any winning recipes?

Frontier might be the problem. Go get a box of pmp jacketed bullets and try with the same load

    Change your bullet.

I compared 55gr Frontier with 55gr V-Max. And there is just no comparrison. V-Max groups much tighter.

    For plinking Frontier is fine.
