Re: .223 rem. load data for my AR.
Hi guys.
Which brass is best to use for reloading for Ar15 ?
I know Lapua is great but for Ar15 it will get expensive !!

Hi there, use any brass even range pickups for plinking but be carefull for mixing .223 and 556 cases with one another.
If you want to load more accurate loads then sort your brass and trim them all to 1.750" and weigh them afterwords and sort them accordingly. Case length, case weight and bullet type is your friend here. I normally try and sort my cases by weight within 2grains from one another. So if my avarage is 104.5grains/case then ill aim for 103.5-105.5 and toss the rest. But this applies for one specific headstamp.
Good luck

Re: .223 rem. load data for my AR.
How exactly is there a difference between reloaded cases (All resized in the same die) of which some started life as ammo loaded to .223 pressures and some loaded to 5.56mm NATO pressures? Once it is fired there is no difference between .223 and 5.56 cases aside from perhaps crimped primer pockets and the fact that some cases may have gone through and extra stamping operation when they were made.
Did you perhaps mean Berdan vs. Boxer primed?

Re: .223 rem. load data for my AR.
@M43 Correct me if I am wrong as I am really new to the scene but, to my knowledge, the 5.56 has a thicker case wall which in turn means the case volume is less by a certain factor.
Using the same load for the .223 cases and the 5.56 cases would result in the 5.56 cases being a hotter load compared to the .223.

This is (in my opinion) the most thorough and applicable explanation of the (ever on going) 5.56mm vs .223 caliber comparison. Notably, the importance of using different bullets with various ogive profiles in appropriate chambers. These chambers being correctly head spaced, to accommodate the specific round's generated pressure curves, safely and efficiently.
