    Default Is it the pizzas?

    http://www.ammoland.com/2015/03/domi...#axzz3Vts4Yfpc

Washington DC - -(Ammoland.com)- Early Tuesday morning, another Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was shot and killed in New Orleans 9th Ward.
Breitbart News has previously reported that Domino’s Pizza bars their drivers from keeping guns with them for self-defense. Sadly, this does not stop armed attackers from preying on the unarmed drivers.

On February 11, I reported at least eight Domino’s Pizza drivers had been shot since January 2012, and three of them died. Now we add the driver killed on March 24 to the list, along with another Domino’s driver who was shot and killed in New Orleans’ Mid-City six months ago.

The Times-Picayune reported on both the New Orleans murders, indicating charges have been filed against those suspected of killing the Mid-City driver.

In addition to the murders of Domino’s Pizza delivery drivers, unarmed female drivers face the threat of rape and other forms of sexual assault. On Sunday, February 8 2015, a female Domino’s Pizza driver was raped and robbed in broad daylight during a pizza delivery in Antioch, California.

After the rape and robbery, Domino’s Pizza spokesman Tim McIntyre said company executives were “shocked and horrified by what happened.” He said the company “couldn’t conceive of something like this happening, especially on [a] Sunday.”

With so many unarmed drivers being shot and killed in the last two years, how can McIntyre or company executives continue to be “shocked?” Their anti-gun policy forces unarmed drivers to carry cash and product into a dangerous world where criminals prey on those incapable of defending themselves.

As Breitbart News reported on February 11 2015, Domino’s gun-ban-by-corporate-fiat model is costing Domino’s Pizza delivery drivers their lives, their dignity, and their peace of mind. It’s time for the company to amend the policy so as to allow drivers with concealed carry permits to keep a gun with them for self-defense.

I wonder what would happen to the driver should he/she carry anyway and successfully defend themself? Would they then get fired for breaking company policy...

Yes, disrespect for the Sabbath is one of the key elements in this crime. I'm sure when the driver thinks back on this event she'll cry a little harder because it was a Sunday.

And yes, we can see you "can't conceive" of something like this happening, because you obviously live in the world of rainbows and unicorns where nothing bad ever happens to anyone and people just smile, wave and say "howdy, neighbour" all the time. Asshat.

I believe there was another one where a female delivery driver shot two attackers with her gun. I believe they gave her a desk job after that. Can't find that article at the moment, but here's another

ANOTHER Domino’s Pizza Driver Ignores Company Policy. Shoots Armed Robber on the Job.

For the second time in just over a week, a Dominos Pizza delivery driver has chosen to ignore the company’s anti-gun, anti-carry policy and is probably still alive because of that action.
As we reported last week, a Florida driver bucked the company’s policy which prevents drivers from carrying firearms from self defense and was involved in a defensive gun use.

Now we have a New Mexico driver who was involved in a similar situation. According to local media reports:

Police were called to a robbery in progress at the Northwest Albuquerque Domino’s around 9:30 p.m. As officers were on their way, they received calls that shots had been fired, Tixier said.

When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound lying in the parking lot. That man — later identified as Gerardo Alvarado, 52 — was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he then improved to stable condition, Tixier said.

Police say Alvarado went into the Domino’s and held up the business at gun point. Alvarado fled the business, and then saw a pizza delivery driver in a car in the parking lot.

Alvarado, not content with the take from the restaurant, decided to rob the driver. However, he realized he made a mistake when the driver drew his own gun and opened fire. Alvarado was struck and is currently in critical condition at an area hospital.

Police do not expect any charges against the driver. However, the driver could be facing termination due to Domino’s corporate policy on guns.

This incident is the one of the most common types of defensive gun uses. That is, one in which no one was killed.

Despite this being one of the most common types of defensive gun uses, these incidents are often not included in statistics about defensive gun uses. Many of these statistics and studies focus solely on justifiable homicides, which represent only a fraction of total defensive gun uses.

This is the 15th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of New Mexico and the 1,418th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
