A very nice, genuine and humble man

    Enjoy the blade!
Indeed, was in his workshop last year August, very friendly and even sharpened my cara cara, this is my third blade from him, other two being pre made

    And thanks man !

I'll use excitement as an excuse for not reading before asking

This leaves with with a serious dilemma.......since I got my first custom and considering the price of your knife, how can I justify buying factory knives anymore???

Problem being my wish list (say what you want) includes the following:
    BK2
    BK3 (maybe)
    BK7 (maybe)
    BK9
    TOPS Prather War Bowie
    TOPS DART
    TOPS Tahoma Field knife (maybe)

Long term dreams sure enough, but how many more great SA (and Namibia) made knives can I get for that money.......?

Thanks for complicating my life Michael!

Honestly I gave up on justifying any knife purchases a long time ago haha, I suppose factory knives are easier to use and abuse within reason ( don't recommend using a Micro tec D.O.C for prying and deadly battles with steel wire )

With custom pieces, they are more precious and prized, basically a new member of the family, honestly if I wasn't so fond of handling her, she'd be in about half a square meter of bubble wrap haha

Well for the estimated total you could design your own arsenal of sharp things :D

But then again....what's wrong with alternating between factory and custom :D

I'm a very happy (almost) 40 year old bachelor with a (old) paid for 4x4, enough camping and fishing gear to cover most situations.......and a re-discovered steel addiction.

I question myself about the BK2, I wonder if it's all the hype, but I do like 1095 more than most steels, and I do want to strip my BK's and make my own Micarta scales...I WANT!

If I compare my TOPS Silent Hero with the custom, you realize that the "excellent fit & finish" TOPS is known for is not up to handmade standard.
Not to mention supporting local craftsman and artists.....

But still, at the very least I want the Prather someday...

, honestly if I wasn't so fond of handling her, she'd be in about half a square meter of bubble wrap haha
I was told time and again my knife was made to be used, most makers feel that way I guess, and if I had enough $$$ I would.

My answer is to shred half a ream of A4 and then put it away

Enjoy your knife and thanks, I'll contact Anton in the next 3/4 months for sure!

Nothing wrong with adding your own personal touch to your knives! As with all mass produced products the "flair" isn't present, heard good things about the Prather

Awesome you definitely won't regret it!
