Re: Any amateur brewers on GS?
I've started brewing the Muntons Canadian Style Beer and kind of looking forward to it, from what the salesguy said its a nice refreshing beer and not too bitter.
I will see what happens when i keep it in my quart cases permanently and only refrigerate before drinking.
My mild ale keeps on getting nicer and nicer the older it gets.

Re: Any amateur brewers on GS?
Muntons make an OK beer. If you want better kit beers, those Mangrove Jack's pouches are top-notch. Much better than the tins in my books. I currently have another Vienna no-boil, no-chill lager in the fridge right now. Want to bottle sometime in the next week or so. Also finished up another 25l of mead which turned out great as well. Next up will be another Vienna lager, but with slightly adjusted numbers. Want to start playing with the recipe now.

Are you referring to these pouches?

If so, I will get some for my next batch, will probably only be in the new year.
I did not see that Vienna in the list, would you mind sharing a link to it, sounds like its not the 1st time you made it so it must be good, would like to try it as well.

Toxxyc,
I thought you had moved on to all grain? Or are you still doing extract kits?

Re: Any amateur brewers on GS?
I tested out the first of my Muntons Canadian Style Beer, i've kept it out of the fridge and only put 1 in the fridge to taste test. It's a nice easy drinking beer, not that bitter at all.
So far none of my 3 batches have been anything but an easy drinking beer Homebrew beer is so much nicer than what you can buy at a dopshop... or what i usually buy :)
I still have 6 x 660ml from my previous batch left which i had to let sit in a case at room temp when our fridge stopped working, so i hope they are still OK, i enjoyed the mild ale best so far.

Re: Any amateur brewers on GS?
Awesome thread. Thanks guys for all your input and discussion.
I want to get a kit online this week and the shop is local, so that's great news going forward.
A mate of mine brewed years ago with a Coopers starter kit he bought at a Mica hardware store. That sparked my interest and with recent developments, i think now is the time to go for it.

If you manage to get your hands on a kit now, you're good. I can't even buy malts to brew with the equipment I have.
