Don't have much reviews in the basket for either, but it looks like the box you recommend is more comprehensively put together. Think I'll probably go for that one then!

As a PS: Didn't know you were on Gunsite as well. :)
    I’m everywhere ;)

And yes, that kit you linked is the one. I really started to shine after 4 months aging.
Sent 4 bottles to a competition for amateur brewers in centurion, and managed to snag second place. 1st place was Marius, the master brewer from hazeldean craft beer.

Heh, interesting. I'll try that one then! I know a guy working at Hazeldean Craft Breweries, but it's not Marius. Has asked him to score me a job there, but alas... :D

Eish even a double batch of both will last me the first two months of winter. Maybe I dink more beer than you do :-)
Haha. Starting two more batches next week Brown ale and mild ale also for winter

Hmm, don't tempt me too much, I might just go begging for a job after all! :D

Anyway, my mead is currently cold crashing nicely. It's already significantly clearer than it was before Friday, and a ton of the yeast is dropping out. I'm really pleased, because this clearing is without the aid of clearing or fining agents, without gelatin and even without the preservatives that are probably to follow this coming weekend.

After this, I'll be stabilizing and backsweetening to taste, leaving a bottle here and there to play around with (to carbonate, to let ferment to total completion, etc. etc.). I did a tiny little taste this weekend with some of this mead mixed with some of the concentrate I want to backsweeten one part with, and it's quite excellent. Tastes very floral, and combined with the fruit concentrate turns into something very similar to a cider. At 12% ABV though, you have to be a bit more careful than with a standard cider. Can't wait to finish this up!

Order placed for the kit above - let's see what I can make of it!
