    Default 'In ear' hearing protection

You guys know who makes electronic 'in ear' hearing protection?

There's usually a couple of companies at Huntex but I didn't get there this year.

Chat to Boerboel on the forum. He will be best equipped to advise you on them.

I got a pair made earlier this year. They super comfortable. However I am not convinced that they better than good quality over the ear muffs.

Phone the ear institute. They also will assist. Friend of mine recently went to them for having the moulds made.
You can get Electronic and non Electronic models.

Personally I protect as much of my ear as possible. So in ear and Sordin Electronic ear muffs over that.
Bought my Daughter the Peltor Tactical. Orange and green ones. Set them to high. And you hear 100%.
This way Everyone on rifle range appears to shoot silenced .22 rifles to me.
And when they speak I hear them clearly.

I've had Peltor electronic for a while but after a full day of shooting I have a chronic headache. They also don't stay in place when I'm shooting shotgun.

Apparently a lot of hearing damage occurs from the back of the ear and damages the small bones through concussion - not necessarily down the canal.

This makes wearing muffs a lot of sense but like I said above it's very uncomfortable after time.

I bought MSA sordin supreme's with gel cups, 3 weeks ago and so far they are much better than the electronic inner ear models I've got (I bought the moulded hard plastic models from Cense and no I will not buy them again for a couple of reasons).

At this stage The Ear Institute and Cens are the guys to chat to regarding amplified in the ear hearing protection.
For normal custom canal ear plugs with filters you can go to any Hearing aid practice

This is not correct, you can hear through your hole head, the best hearing protection is a fighter pilot helmet, covering the complete head.
