Default Importance of cleaning your pistol

After reading reports of pistols that fires 500+ rounds without needing a cleaning session I thought I will see what my pistol does. Yes, there are Taurus pistols that can also fire more than 500 rounds without a failure, even if not cleaned
So after my last range session a couple of weeks ago, I decided not to clean it. I only fired say 150 rounds that day, so I thought it will be fine for the next session.
But it was not.... It fired off all the rounds in the magazine on the second range session, which was about 20 days later. But the problem came in when inserting the next magazine. The rounds nose-dived. I really struggled to load the rounds. Once loaded, it will fire the rest in the magazine 100%.
So if I needed my pistol, and 8 rounds were not enough, the second mag would not have worked and I would have been in serious trouble.
I don't know how other brands do in the same situations, as you all clean your guns between range sessions, but it seems my Taurus is only 100% reliable if I clean it completely between range sessions.

All I can say is .... Glock

But I still clean my Glocks as soon as I get back from the range, every time. Even if going shooting again the next day.
There are no stupid questions ........ just stupid people

When I was waiting for my SD9's license to come though and if was at the dealer. I shot around 1000 rounds through it without cleaning. It worked flawlessly although I was only shooting Winchester Whitebox at the time. No failures at all.

I now clean it on Sunday if I've been to the range at all during the week. Which I usually do and put at least 100 rounds through it per week.

I fail to see how a dirty or clean gun solves a magazine feeding issue

On my pistol it seems the magazine is not the culprit causing nose dives. Before I polished the feeding ramp my gun was not functioning properly all of the time. The polishing of the feeding ramp cured all the issues I had with it.

When I got home after my failed experiment I could see just how dirty and sticky the feeding ramp was. After some slick 2000 it was working perfectly again. My pistol needs a sqeaky clean feeding ramp.

Also think this a magazine issue.

Anyway, I clean my pistols far less than I used to, and I really only do it grudgingly, but it is an opportunity to inspect the internals for wear or damage.

Ah okay, I see your reply now as to why you suspect it is not the mag.
