Pretoria - Two robbers have been killed in a botched robbery in the Moot in Pretoria.
Police received a tip-off that a robbery was about to happen on Sunday, said Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo.
They were informed that the robbers would be travelling in a blue BMW. The gang was following a woman home from OR Tambo International Airport, where she had picked up guests.
She and the guests were confronted by the gang as they drove into her driveway. The men demanded jewellery and their bags.

"The team split up into different groups and began patrolling the area. One of the groups spotted the BMW fitting the description outside the victim's house where the robbery was already taking place," said Naidoo.
Shoot-out
"The entire team was summoned and when they tried to arrest the suspects, the shoot-out ensued."
Two suspects were shot and killed while a third was wounded. He was recovering in hospital.
"Police recovered a .38 special revolver and a pistol which was being used by the robbers," said Naidoo.
The weapons would be sent for ballistic testing to determine if they had been used in other crimes.
It also emerged that the BMW used by the robbers was taken in an armed robbery earlier this month.
The woman and her guests were unharmed.
