Howa 338 Win Mag: scope and suppressor sugestions

I am wanting to get a Howa 338 Win Mag with the Houge stock.

I am looking for suggestions for suppressor and scope

One suggestion was a Vortex crossfire 4 - 12 and a Bushman suppressor.

The Howa with the Houge stock comes in about half a kilo lighter than a wooden stock from what I have been able to see.

A little extra weight from the suppressor would/might help to tame the recoil

The big Bushman suppressor would help to tame that recoil.
As for scope, what do you want to do with it exactly?

Please check on the different suppressors because some work very good and others less so. A farm owner told us about a suppressed 30-06 with less sound than a suppressed 223! It turned out that the 223 suppressor was a good looking cheapie whereas the 30-06 had a work of art mounted on it. Unfortunately he did not have brand names.

I use silent hunter suppressors. Henk makes a good, solid, working suppressor at a great price.

I have seen many expensive and good looking ones , but they look good only :-)

I have a vx1 Leopold on my Howa 338. Has yet to shift POI under recoil. Recoil is very manageable and I have an un-suppressed rifle. The bushman suppressors balance extremely well on the howas in my opinion and that would be the route I'd go.

I have a suppressor made by ARMS in Pta on my 308 Howa, and it works like a charm, sound and recoil wise. Price is also very decent so I think its worth having a look.

How do the Hogue stocks hold up to the recoil of the 338?

I have a suppressor that was manufactured in Europe, is certainly costly, and works like a bomb. Recently I was on a farm where the farmer (a PH himself) after my first shot, immediately asked me what suppressor is on that rifle (it was wrapped with tape at the time). He said he was buying one the next week. Is it better than locally manufactured equivalents? I can't say. But it sure is quiet an impressive, even to the experienced. Btw, it's an Aimzonic Cyclone Compact.

As for scope, what do you want to do with it exactly?

I want to do hunting mainly in the Cape ( Western, Eastern and Northern ). So I am looking for a scope that can be used in bushveld, plains and mountains.
In other words it must do everything. My main concern with the scope mentioned is 4 x might be too strong for bushveld conditions.
Maximum hunting range with a range finder and a good rest would be 350 meters.
