Default Dry Fire and Glocks, Other Pistols As Well?

Should You Dry Fire a Glock?
I'm just quoting the final bit with Glocks official response click ^ link for full article...
    ...
    Glocks official statement

To get to the bottom of this, Glock Forum went right to the source and contacted Glock USA themselves. Here is what we found:

    Dear Glock

I am writing an article on Glock Forum on Dry Firing G-series Glock pistols. What is the official Glock policy on this practice?

Is it ok or not, in a nutshell?

    Christopher Eger

    The quick response back:

    Mr. Eger,

Generally, dry firing the Glock pistol is not a problem, however, when taken to excess, e.g., thousands of dry firings, Glock now recommends the use of snap-caps.
When taken to the extreme, the breech-face can be damaged.

    Best regards,

There you have it. Either stop dry firing or buy some snap caps. They run about $5 and the Glock you save...may be your own.
I'm not picking on glock the article just came across my news feed, personally i use "snap caps" (home made or the two i bought way back) if i do dry-fire training on my CZ75 and my M&P9c, always have always will...

The thing is always that you're going to keep that firearm for many years. Everything you think you can get away with now will come back to bite you in 5 to 10 years.

If I ever get to myself to dry-fire, I normally use a A zoom snap-cap with the rim ground off and a piece of insulation tape over the tip (that is to stop it from getting ejected or falling out when I rack the pistol). To get the dummy out I must knock it out with a plastic rod. I use it in a Glock and Shadow.

Clever method. Something to consider doing.

Maybe some day someone can explain why a snap cap costs R40 and an actual round costs R5 to R10.

Indeed. Recently bought snap caps in .45ACP and almost had a heart attack when I saw the price.

Even at R100 a piece it still saves me a lot if money in wall reparations and lawyer fees.

Maybe because it's a niche item, maybe because you don't buy 500 at a time. I don't know.

How many times more than once can you fire an actual round of ammunition?
    Sent electronically, thus not signed.

Are you trying to apply logic to a discussion on shooting related costs? You know everything is meant to be free.
