    That isn't what I said...

I said not everyone can afford a second pistol (of the same make\model).

Not everyone can afford to have a spare, so looking after the 'one' (and only) that they can afford makes sense, no?

Does this include Glocks? If so where will the damage show?

(I own two Glocks that I've dry fired what must amount to many tens of thousands of times.)
The one I know of dryfired daily for an hour for a couple of years, that said,if you damage your car due to incorrect or accelerated wear you simply go to the dealer and buy a new one, with a FA you never know if you'll be allowed a new one or the paperwork involved in removing the broken one from your name...snap cap is an inexpensive solution in my mind.

I have a spare Shadow and a myriad of glocks and still use snap caps, just because if something breaks then I know for fact it was not due to my negligence

That's a fair point, but it only works if you can get spares, as anyone who drives an old car knows. Some gun parts are hard to get. Sig and HK are examples, despite being current production guns. S&W too - in their case you can get spares but you have to order them through Nic Yale and wait several months for them. Other factories are closed eg Astra (or is it Star). In any case, I made quite a few parts for various guns, and what I made most of was firing pins. Not necessarily because they had been dry fired, but the message is clear - it is known that too much dry firing without snap caps can damage firing pins in particular, so prevention is better than cure.
