    Hi Sean
I am not sure the 165gr Sierra HPBT is a Prohunter. I am sure it is a Gameking. It is very good bullet.
    Well done.

    @ Maroelas ...

I shot a Waterbuck Cow on Wednesday this week with my 300 H&H using the 180gr Sierra Gameking. Difficult blustery conditions but I stuck it in behind the shoulder at 224m and she walked about 10m and dropped. Muzzle vel is 2850 and it is very accurate - deadly. Bullet was lost in the skinning.

Webster, yes correct, Game king not prohunter. They seem to only make those 2 variants for that bullet weight.

    130gr Peregrine VRG4 from my .270 at 2940fps.
Kudu bull was standing quartering towards. Shot him on the front of the left shoulder. Recovered on right hand side underneath the skin just before the right buttock.

I sold my 30 cal 180 gr VRG4 bullets because I was getting hardly any expansion at 30-06 velocities.
I have heard that the VLR4 bullets are made to give better expansion at lower velocities. Has anyone got any experience with them?

    Default Bullet performance data base

I Used S&B Exergy Blue in 308 WIN in 165gr on Eland Cow and Eland Bull. Cow was shot through neck so bullet was not recovered. She went straight down.

The Eland Bull was a youngish Bull shot at 240m and was facing me at a slight angle. Bullet was recovered after passing through chest cavity to the left high side between stomach and rear leg. Was also used successfully on a Gemsbok and Springbok. Rifle used was a Steyr Prohunter.
