But surely the difference here is that Coke/Pepsi/KFC are not claiming to give a result apart from "it is lekker"?

I learned long ago not to read vleisboek comments , its just kinda logical.

You are asking a company to give away their secret sauce, I wouldn't, would you?

FireClean are claiming a result, either you get that result or you don't.Pretty similar I think.

As I said, for me Slip is better and cheaper, but many guys were happy with this stuff before this article.

Anybody interested in buying my new revolutionary gun lubricant, PnP GUnola oil. R100 for 750ml.

PS - also had FIREclean gunk/gum up a slide of a pistol that was kept in a safe for 4 months so bad that it was almost impossible to rack it. Sticking to Ballistol from now on, still want to try Eesox and Slip.

But Coke don't put their product in a Veuve Clicquot bottle and claim it's champagne either.

Bad analogy, but dressing up canola oil and selling it as a premium engineered product is cheeky.

I don't think FireClean being composed of vegetable oils was ever a secret; it's right there in the patent. I don't quite follow why there's now an uproar over vegetable oils demonstrating similar spectroscopic traits to other vegetable oils.

Curious, most people who say they have an issue with Fireclean have had it with guns that have been stored, while the people who endorse it use their guns.

I wonder if there is something in that.

Personally I use SLIP, but that is because I got on the SLIP bandwagon a while ago and have lots, and it works.
