    My experience with Slip on type is. they work and do a good job.
    But screw on is far better. With screw on if you get s decent person to make or brand to buy.
    They can get the center hole smaller. To catch more gasses and quiet it down more.
    With Slip on. The hole needs to be bigger. To make sure it aligns when you slip it on.

    Thanks shooty, point taken. Hopefully the slip on silencer can be opened for cleaning etc. Then i might add some steel wool ?

    Don't add steel wool! The sound dampening effect it has is minimal and it can create problems as well.

    The bullet "grabs" pieces of steel wool and it can destroy the silencer. Any HALF decent silencer does not need modifications to silence a ,22.

    Steel wool was used a lot in the old days to slow down the bullet, I even read somewhere about leather that was used. But as technology improves most silencers moved over to using baffles.
