The Hilux must have slipped through one of those holes!
However, photography was getting fairly sophisticated by 1850-60, the automobile still had 5 years to go before a practical one was introduced.

Yes, I limit my muzzleload shots with open sights to 75 yards with a rest although 40-50 yards is more usual.

Did your self-imposed limits restrict you to real black powder and cast bullets available at the time (round balls and minies) or are maxiballs, etc. allowed with substitute black powders?

The limitation was on the use of black powder only , we could use any cast bullets as long as it shoots with black powder ...no smokeless powder in black powder brass .... The spirit is to be as original as possible , re-enacting the 1880 era...

A video on the first 1880 era hunts, it is in Afrikaans, will make sure we make one in English next year...

The different firearms are very interesting. I wish I understood Afrikaans.
Whoever made the paper-patched cartridge did a fine job.
