70 yrs old shop owner shot dead at point blank range

4 armed robbers portending as customers and walked in a retail shop in cape town, the shop have other shoppers incl woman and children at the time, Then 1 of armed robbers reach his pocket for wallet but pull out a gun and shot 70 yrs old shop owner in the face at point blank range and killed him instantly. The 70 yrs old shop owner was alone at shop and he didn't resist and give any chance to surrender.

Can ask my fellow lawyers on this forum why, in such incontrovertibly clear circumstances, these criminals shouldn't be hanged? What room for doubt is there and what mercy requires that such mercilessness be forgiven?

We see this almost daily, but one can never get used to their brutality, absolutely no respect or feeling for human life. Evolution has truly applied the knit one skip one principle and some walking amongst us are still supposed to klimb trees for their food.
