Re: Your reloading cost on 7.62x39?
I cast and powder coat for <30c per bullet. About the only cost effective solution. This has been discussed in another thread.

Did you try and use the phrase "cheap bullet" in an AK thread?

Me .... never!
I really hope some SA bullet manufacturer see the business opportunity here for a CMJ type 7.62x39.
It has been a huge growth in following in the last couple of years.

Re: Your reloading cost on 7.62x39?
I just picked up 1000 rounds of brown bear here in Dallas for $200, that's 20 cents per round. Christmas gift from the Mrs.

I just recently discovered Xtreme Bullets. The US reviews complain[ed] about consistency and bullet length. But they make a 123gr plated FP that is available here. Depending on quantites I think its R3.36 (1000) to R7.00 (50). Worth a try. Will give feedback once I get some and run them downrange and over the chrony.

That looks promising, let us know.
I have bought some KZN to try out as well @ just ove R2 a bullet.
They are heavier and Some people did not like them but will give them a try.

Re: Your reloading cost on 7.62x39?
One would think with this being Africa and all, that 7.62x39 would be highly available and therefore good value - not so, hence the reason I sold my Type 56 and got an AR.
Particularly the 7.62x39 brass is a pain in the arse ! My advice: stick to 5.56mm
