Johannesburg - An estate agent who was visiting Radovan Krejcir in prison was arrested on Sunday after she was found with a cellphone inside the sole of a shoe.


Police spokesman Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale said the 45-year-old woman had gone to Zonderwater Prison to visit Krejcir to discuss the sale of his property in Bedfordview, Joburg.


“She alleges that someone gave her food and Krejcir’s old running shoes to give to Krejcir. However, inside the sole of the shoes, a Samsung cellphone was hidden,” he said.


It is understood the phone rang, alerting authorities and that Krejcir’s son Denis was on the other end, calling from Poland.


The woman has been charged with defeating the ends of justice and is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
