Default MT1C compatibility with RCR123A battery

    Hi Celesti

I bought an MT1C off Takealot yesterday, and decided to get an NL166 RCR123A for it too, along with your i2 charger. Package got delivered today, and when I read the paperwork that came with the MT1C, I saw it says RCR123 is not permitted. I had a look on your website, to see if there's 3.0V rechargable battery that I should have bought, but it seems the 3.7V NL166 is the only rechargable CR123 option you have? I'd not expect that you'll stock batteries that are incompatible with your own flashlights, so I just want to make sure if the NL166 is fit for use with the MT1C?

    Your advice would be appreciated

    :- P

    Good Day Pirate

    Thank you for contacting us.

We do NOT recommend using RCR123 batteries on the MT1C (only torch in our range not recommended) that is why it is sold by us with CR123 3v batteries ONLY not RCR123 3.7 volt batteries. Our other torches can use RCR123 batteries. You can only use the RCR123 batteries in the torch if it is for incidental short bursts, not for an extended period of time, as the heat generated would shorten the life expectancy of the LED as the rechargeable generates more heat due to higher voltage. That is why it is stated in the user manual that RCR123 batteries are not recommended on this model.

    Kindest Regards
    Celesti
