Default Magpul ZHUKOV-S stock on Norinco Type-56

    Hey all,

Got my hands on my Type-56 from TacShac (thanks Dez and Paul Oxley) and have been stocking up on Magpul AK furniture via Hailstorm (thanks Jacques) for a while. Saw the MOE stock thread and thought I'd show-off and give you my thoughts on the installation.

The Zhukov-S stock will fit on the Type-56, but you are going to have to permanently modify the tang. The Type-56's tang is to long. You will have to trim off approx 3-4mm of the tangs length. After that, the stock should line up. It is a real good fit and a sturdy platform.

As mentioned before in the MOE installation thread, the MOE Hand Guard will also fit, but you and your Dremel tool will have to work for it. The Magpul mags and grip fit well without any modification.

    Very, very nice.

Also got a Zhukov stock from Hailstorm that needs to be fitted. Can you perhaps take a close-up of the tang and modifications made.

Looks amazing. I am torn between the MOE and Zhukov stock.

It looks really good. I've been looking at the Fab Defense stocks for AK but I may just have to reconsider and go with the Zhukov. I especially like the fact that it is a right side folder as well as adjustable.

Thanks for sharing. I definitely made the right choice opting for Zhukov. I also elected to get the Ultimak M2-B railed gas port. But its going to be quite some time until I can show it off.
Just started the CFR gauntlet on the 56 and the frilly bits are still inbound too.
There are no stupid questions ........ just stupid people

How much did the M2-B cost you, if you don't mind me asking? And are you planning to replace the handguard as well?
