    Default Tactical Firearms Course on 04 - 08 April 2016

    This Course will be held on the 4th - 8th of April 2016 (Monday - Friday).

    Important note:


    1. This is not an entry level course !
    2. Candidates must be qualified at Business Purposes level with the relevant firearms. Please contact ITA if you need to complete your Business Purposes levels in advance.


    The course is structured in such a way that it progresses from low risk to high risk. Learners that do not pass the tactical qualification shoots, or appear to have safety issues of any kind (finger on trigger, muzzle direction etc.), will not be allowed to partake in any of the high risk, full operational mode live fire team drills.


    The ITA courses are Internationally recognized and accredited locally by:


    • SASSETA (Safety And Security Sectoral Education Training Authority)
    • PFTC (Professional Firearm Trainers Council) No 041 967 474 377
    • SAPS (South African Police Services) No 4000004
    • PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority)
    • ITA also guarantees recognition (RPL) with this qualification for any future accreditation that may be required in South Africa.

    :
    04 to 08 April, from 08h30 to 16h30 daily.

    R5,550.00 per person (Excl VAT)
    (A 50% non refundable deposit is required on booking)

    Course Details:

    The course will cover all the current tactical unit standards and you will walk away with a PFTC accredited qualification, confident in your tactical fighting and defensive shooting skills. As an industry leader, ITA has trained over 1600 instructors country-wide, including operational teams specializing in basic to advanced training in handguns, shotguns, and rifles.

    The ITA has a board of 36 counselors (Instructor Trainers), who specialize in various subjects relating to firearm training and provides training material for more than 260 accredited training centers country-wide.

    Some examples of this would include:


    • De Beers Diamond Mine – Diamonds-in-Transit Protection Team;
    • Anglo Gold Asset Protection Team;
    • The Scorpions (South Africa’s Elite Law Enforcement Unit);
    • SBV Cash-in-Transit Team Instructors (SBV is South Africa’s largest cash-in-transit company).


    PFTC Accredited unit standard based tactical course

    This course focuses on generic tactics that are applicable to handguns, shotguns and rifles. On this course you will learn about shooting while moving, working as a member of a tactical team, dynamic room entry and the correct procedure for clearing difficult areas such as stairwells. This course focuses on the use of firearms in high risk situations and under extreme stress. One needs to be in reasonably good physical condition to enrol on this course. This course will teach you how to win a gun fight.

    Unit Standards included:
    123510 – Apply tactical knowledge in the use of firearms.
    123512 – Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a shotgun.
    123513 – Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a handgun.
    123518 – Demonstrate tactical proficiency with a self-loading rifle or carbine.

    *All manuals will be supplied and are
    PFTC accredited


    Minimum Equipment Required:


    • Suitable handgun with secure holster
    • Shotgun with sling
    • Rifle with sling
    • Spare magazines and magazine pouches
    • Tactical gear: Knee and elbow pads, gloves, bullet proof vest
    • Suitable Torch
    • Eye and ear protection
    • A cap.



    Ammunition Requirements:


    • 500x rounds handgun
    • 500x rounds rifle
    • 150x rounds shotgun (birdshot)


    *ITA can provide the necessary ammunition to complete the course at a cost of approximately R 5,499
    *ITA can provide firearms to complete the course at a cost of approximately R 328.95
