RUGER SR45 CENTERFIRE PISTOL IN .45 ACP
Please will someone in the know give me their opinion of this pistol, I am seriously considering it as a SDFA but want a few truths before I yay or nay.
Please while I respect everyone has an opinion on what is a better gun, please first say why you don't like this gun or a feature before you tell me to rather buy x,y or z.
I just want good honest truths both good and bad, thanks.
And if you are able to do the for the CZ 75 P-09 .40 SMITH & WESSON SEMI AUTO PISTOL, I'd be grateful.

I own a Ruger SR 1911 in 45 ACP, what an awesome pistol. More a hand cannon!
Ruger makes awesome firearms.
The SR45 is more concealable.
My next pistol is the CZ P-09 .40 S&W, because I love CZs too.

Re: RUGER SR45 CENTERFIRE PISTOL IN .45 ACP
I haven't tried the SR45 but really disliked the trigger on the SR9. Take up took forever and the reset felt almost pointless it was so long.
I've carried a G30S (which smaller) and best advice I can give you looking at compact 45s for carry is .... don't. The spare ammo weighs a ton. And at 10+1 spare mags are not optional. I've switched to a M&P40c for a lighter smaller gun without sacrificing round count. Plus spare mags add negligible weight. There are no stupid questions ........ just stupid people

Re: RUGER SR45 CENTERFIRE PISTOL IN .45 ACP
I must admit the extra mag count of the CZ is a plus.
There's also a lot of dislike on the net around the Ruger's mag drop out and replacement (I'm not sure if the terminology is correct, I'm new at this).
I am a biggish chap at 6'3" with xxl hands thus the idea of the bigger pistols.
Thank you for your input.

Get something in 9mm
You may think you need a big gun to fit big hands. You don't really. You will find carrying a full size pistol concealed everyday rapidly becomes a ballache. You will think it won't. But it will.

I am 2,1 m tall and Yeti is twice my height) )
One of our favourite guns is the G26 which can be concealed in our clasped hands!
Your size should be not a guide to the ideal carry gun size.
The SR triggers improves greatly with use and my SR 9 transformed after 500 rounds.
The SR45 is an easy gun to carry and conceal.
It is also accurate and easy to shoot.
For many reasons ( discussed on GS) listen to T re 9mm.

Re: RUGER SR45 CENTERFIRE PISTOL IN .45 ACP
Thank you again, Big T with respect (I've been reading a lot of your posts and comments) I know you know what you are talking about but I've got no interest in anything 9mm or smaller, yes cheaper, lighter, etc. I just don't like them, I don't believe in their stopping power and so I'll never be happy with it.
Yes I am only 1/3 the Yeti and size shouldn't be factored but I was just trying to point out that as a six footer farmer boy a bigger guns weight is also not the deal breaker.
Thanks again, and yes I may be swayed toward the CZ or others but never a 9mm.

If your heart is set on the SR45 and can live with a large gun / 10 cap package then you will enjoy the gun as it has many excellent features if you manage to get past that.

Re: RUGER SR45 CENTERFIRE PISTOL IN .45 ACP
KK20, both the CZ and the SR45 are perfectly in the price range, I do so like the bigger calibre, they both have goods and bads but heart has helped me make too many stupid purchases in the past. I am just undecided.
