Re: Compound bow setup- whisker biscuit rest, sights?
If you are a beginner bowshooter a whisker biscuit is fine. It hold the arrow in place even with a bad draw and wont fall off like a dropaway rest. A whisker biscuit bristles deteriate with time so you will need to replace the bristles when worn. I used one for two years and then replace it with a dropaway. Works better in long run.
Any sight will do and also recommended for beginners to use multipin and change later to single pin when you are good. In the end it is what works for you if you want more info pm me you email address for some info

Newer drop away rests have containment which solves the problems mentioned. Have a look at Ripcord and QAD.
You can lock the rest in up position before staring your walk or while bow is lying/hanging in the hide. Arrow stays in containment no matter at which angle you draw, or how you carry the bow.

If you can afford it go for a QAD ultrarest HDX.
Especially on a quicker bow, you need a good quality drop away.
You wont be sorry. It is full containment so works brilliantly for walk and stalk as well.

Re: Compound bow setup- whisker biscuit rest, sights?
Thanks for the replies. If it means waiting a bit and saving for a better rest i don't mind. I don't want to put something and change it soon after.
Will have a look at the options mentioned.

Spot Hogg is a good sight and bulletproof. A good drop away and Spot Hogg is hard to beat.

Spot Hogg Real deal and the Limbsaver for the win. Exactly what I had on my Destroyer 350 before I sold it.
You just cannot go wrong there.
