Re: EDC gear while not "EDC'ing"
I don't carry my gun on me at home, I just carry it with me. In a cheapo nylon holster to cover the trigger I take it with me where I go. If I'm on the couch, it's next to me on the coffee table. Bedroom, my "sleeping place". Kitchen, countertop. Bathroom, next to the basin. Etc.

Re: EDC gear while not "EDC'ing"
I am willing to bet a lot of money that people that carry at home off body are going to leave the gun somewhere once or twice to quickly run to the bathroom or whatever.
With a proper EDC system you can carry at home very comfortably.
Rather carry like you do every day. For getting up at night in pajamas or something, use a moonbag type thing made for carrying a pistol or even a velcro type belt with a holster permanently attached.

Just make sure it is in a holster were the trigger guard is covered, especially carrying "1-up"

I use a belly band when I'm strolling around the house with shorts that don't have belt loops.

The speed belt works wonders even with tracksuit pants.... the trick is finding a way to stop the holsters (mags and fa) from moving around.
