Advice on Beretta Shotgun Mod A301
I have been looking at over and unders for a while now and some are pretty expensive. Been leaning towards Lanbers but they go for 15K.
I have 2 questions:
1. I know a guy that has a beretta mod A301 semi-auto and hes selling it for 9K...The beauty is that he has never shot the gun at all. It is brand new boxed etc. Purchased approx 1986. is this a good price, would this be a good first shotgun to go for? for clayshooting purposes!
Is it a good price?
What would they go for now on the open mkt?
Should i just jump at it and buy it or look for a more modern gun?
Some would argue older is better quality???
Bearing in mind i have to register as a collector to possess this SEMI-AUTO.
2. If you dont advise going for this gun what over/unders would you suggest below 15K... would Lanber be the best and only option?
I would appreciate any advise/input.
Thx

How on earth do you buy a semi-auto shotgun and not fire it in 25 odd years?? Is this guy one of the bastards who has the jewels of the firearm industry locked away untouched in his basement?
:D

Indeed it is so, he never fired MOST of his arms. Had loads but sold off most already. I am a little late, so all the best are gone.
But his collection (mostly Brand new) would make you so jealous!!! Trust me.

Been shooting one for a while now. Really nice solid gun - never malfunctioned in any way. Bigger magazine capacity would have been nice :) You can get off 4 rounds as fast as you can pull the trigger - fun! Don't know if the price is good or not.
Oh, and I recently shot some clays and did well (first time shooting clays). Recoils noticibly more than an over and under.Last edited by shooter; 24-03-2010 at 21:41.

Havent seen it no, i have to drive like 400k's to see it.
Hence me askin for opinions first.
I also have to reg as a collector if i do intend buying it as its semi auto.
That one in UK is 270 pounds and prob well used so new i guess it would fetch 550 pounds, and seeing as everything costs lots more in SA after import duties, sounds like 9K is ok.
