Hey boomslang, I have long standing fetish and itch for a 9.3x74r. You say its worthwhile?

What do you think of the O/U configuration?

Just returned from a successful hunt and ended up using my father-in-laws new bang stick.
    It's a Browning S.A. Express 9.3X74R over-under with a Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20mm scope. What a beaut and worked like a dream.

Not sure of the price tag but I'll definitely get my hands on one some day.
Sweeeeet setup! IIRC, they were priced just under the R60k mark. There was an article writen up on them in one of the Magnum magazines some time back. Alan Henry from Natal Gun Company can do a bit of magic on the stock, reducing the hogs back, and he seems to get it spot on.

Rizini also offers doubles. Trevor from Whylo (the agents) has a great combo- 12ga O/U and a separate set of barrels on 9.3x74R, which are a lot shorter, which have some good FO open sights, which he uses to hunt bush pig.

Your father-in-law is one lucky bloke! Very jealous!

Shooting this rifle was a great experience and I will definitely be getting a 9.3x74r of my own at some point. IMHO it is worthwhile. Just something to consider is the cost of the ammo. I paid around R200 a round.

I really enjoyed the O/U configuration!!!!! Apart from the obvious pros of a rifle like this there is just something about breaking the barrels open and popping out the two spent rounds (with a hunting rifle) that made me feel awesome hahaha lame, I know, but true.
