Default Grand West Casino Firearm storage facilities - Anyone done it before?

I am in Ceres for the weekend with my GF and they (we) are coming down for the Afrikaans is Groot show at the casino on Saturday, the 12PM show.

I called their security and they said they have the 'gun drop' at the main entrance where you book it in and sign a book.
It seems they store it in a save with other guns as well (although not sure, just sounds like it).

Leaving it at her home in Ceres is not an option as I don't drive anywhere without it and don't like to compromise on that.

So, has anyone been to Grand West with their EDC and booked it in? What was your experience and what was the exact procedure?

Do I just take my whole holster out of my pants and hand it over (loaded) or do I remove the FA and make it safe and then put back in holster and hand over?

I was also thinking of just taking my Glock case with and removing the FA and placing it straight into the case infront of them and let them store it like that.

    Thoughts or advice?

Individual safes, you get a key. Safe area for clearing into some sort of ballistics drum.

Register to sign it in and out.

Just tell the security guy at the front you have a firearm. He will take you to the desk and sort it from there

Yep, easy with no issues at Grand West. Takes about 10 minutes so you might wanna show up a little early.

    Feedback:

I arrived and went through scanners. Told the security guard I have a gun and need to book it in. He pointed me to another neatly dressed guard who took me to the book-in station and they asked if it is my first time. They then explained that I can clear my firearm in a corner with a gun-clear box of some sort to dry fire in. After that I placed my FA and mag on the soft felt mat where I handed over my license and signed the book. The lady kindly asked me to keep the FA holstered till we go to the back (I though I give it to them over there).

She took me to the back and opened a small safe (of many stacked together) with two keys. She asked me to place my FA inside the safe and closed it, giving me one of the two keys and also proceeded to show me that she can't open the safe with the one key and the FA can only be retrieved if I give them the key again.

Storage was free and after the show I went back, handed over the slip and my license and then they took me to the back again where I could give the key and retrieve my FA and load up and holster in the back.

Overall, very professional and I am very very impressed. Painless, easy and I felt comfortable and the nervousness before handing in went away as I left the book-in station.

this is real good feedback, now I know for next time, cause when I went to a club in cape town, I told the bouncer I have a gun on me and he did nothing and I proceeded to enter...
