Type 56 Round Counts?

What rounds counts are the owners of Type 56 AKs seeing so far?

Type 56 # 1 probably conservatively 12 cases of ammo, Type 56 #2 probably 5 or so cases more. Cleaned seldom and still going strong.All at Flora guns.

At ihawu in durban they had a 56-2 that had been through years of people shooting every weekend. One of the guys there told me the barell eventually got shot out..

Mine is quite low @ about 250 rounds.

Mine has done probably around 500 so nothing that means anything except that it worked out of the box. The gas block/front sight is not aligned properly and it is an iritation for me.

I think it will aslo be important for information sake to know if the all the type 56 rifles being talked about have the same markings. Mine has the Oval ring with 313 in it.

The T56 has been on the SA market for a good number of years now. There must be some rifles with pretty decent round counts at this stage!

Whats yours?

I have an under folder and have put through at least 2000 rounds over the years from Norinco milsurp, S&B, Hornady SST, White Box and reloads all with out a hiccup.

TACTICAL HQ range T56 has no less than 42k rds though it, the piston guide tube has several holes worn through it purely by friction, the action is glass smooth now, polished by 1000's upon 1000's of surplus rds. This is our original range rifle from 4 years ago, billing system report shows approx 1200rds a month through this rifle. Barrel still functional but throat erosion is severe, no tumbling yet. By far the best value for money 7.62 self loader out there.
