Re: 14 May - L1 and practice
My first time being there and I had a blast! The hike wasn't too bad but I will plan better next time. I did it in 38min using titanium as a pacer and checking my time at the turnaround point. It worked well. I will also plan my gear due to the short notice of my confirmation I just dumped my "standard" load and went at it. I could easily drop 5-7kg of weight off my gear for l1 (aka, plates, water, torch, stove kitchen sink... Etc).
What let me down was my shooting. Having not shot the long gun for ages I wasn't confident in my zero and it showed with 5 hits in 45 rounds... Terrible!
My my goal was to get l1 first time around, I'm determined to not cock it up again.
Thanks for a great day out in the rain gents!
