Re: SD Ammo that "demonstrate outstanding terminal performance"
I wish we could get some decent JHP`s in again as the public is crying for some good stuff. I know I need some stuff to as my Black Talons are getting real long in the tooth.

Re: SD Ammo that "demonstrate outstanding terminal performance"
The .40 165gr Gol Dot and the .45 200gr +P Gold Dot both plugged fairly often through 4 layers of demin IIRC which is why they are not on the list. Some loads will also not be on the list if the Doc hasnt had requests for testing.

I have both and I can't see any difference between them. I kinda like the idea of the 155gr Speer GD from the velocity point of view.
Call me a spead freak! he he!

The particular 165gr GD's in question here were not loaded to CCI Speer's specs if you read the thread on www.m4carbine.com

Re: SD Ammo that "demonstrate outstanding terminal performance"
I have shot a couple of jackal with the 124 gold dots. I know you cannot compare the effect it had on jackal to the effect it might have on a man, BUT the 124 gold dots left them were they were shot every time with quite big exit wounds. I have shot a jackal with pmp FMJ and it took off as if nothing happened.

Re: SD Ammo that "demonstrate outstanding terminal performance"
What's the deal with availability of ammo in SA?
I notice many people have posted on the lines of, "if you find it, grab it". I assume from that, that it's hard to come by the quality stuff.
If there's such a demand, why is no-one just getting it in? It can't be that hard, surely?
