Can't tell you about the chassis, but seeing you are in Centurion take a drive through to the workshop and chat to Warren and have a look at it. Got a suppressor from them and very happy so far.

That is the plan. He's not in today though.
And it's always good to get opinions from gunsite guys and girls.

Coming back to this old thread. I'm still contemplating the alu chassis.
Another thread by LSS got me fired up again.

My 308 services as my sole hunting rifle, but I also like to shoot nice groups at the range with it.
I have not seen any hunting rifle with a aluminium stock.

Is it advisable to do it?

They are heavy (in the general sense, not specifically Gun Worrior). You can expect your setup to be 6kg+. But if that works for you, why not?

I'll have to go check the current weight again to confirm, but lugging 6kg around could be interesting.
I don't hunt of a bakkie, so it's all walk and stalk and carry your own shit, lol
But that is maybe twice a year and the rest is range work.

It would make a nice Christmas gift to myself.

as I've walked a little with a bit of a "heavy" rifle, i feel that i need to warn you……. Its not fun!

    Maybe look at another rifle?
One for the range and one for hunting?

I am considering a Warrior Gen1 or Gen3 to fit my Howa 6.5x55 onto... very interesting chassis. and the price is much better than the imported chassis!

Keep your original stock for hunting.

    Roughly what is the price?

Getting a Tikka Super Varmint soon that could do with a stock upgrade...

Sent from the shooting range, inside my private comet...
