Please make use of a spellchecker, I cannot keep doing this.

Simplified: You need to provide proof that you hunt on occasion once or twice a year. You need to prove that you visit the shooting range once or twice a year. Provide invoice/photo/letter from farmer/firearm owner.

I submitted an application in the last few weeks for a 9mmP Sig (section 15). This is what I included:

    Motivation:
    • Who I am, why do I like to shoot
    • Calibre - why 9mmP and not another calibre (pros and cons)
    • Description of the firearm and why I chose this specific one (quality, local back up, safety features, meets criteria for IPSC and Natshoot disciplines etc.)
    • References to IPSC and NatShoot rules and shooting disciplines I will take part in and why this firearm fits the bill
    • National Hunting and Shooting Association Endorsement of Motivation
    • National Hunting and Shooting Association Membership card
    • National Hunting and Shooting Association Proof of Paid Up Membership
    • National Hunting and Shooting Association Register of annual hunting / and or sport shooting events
    • National Hunting and Shooting Association Membership Events
    • Sandton Shooting Club Proof of Membership (Tactical .22)
    • Proof of shooting at my local club

It was a lengthy motivation (not always sure this is the way to go), however I ensured I covered all my bases.

I also submitted all the other required docs, photos of safe, declaration of safe being installed correctly, proof of residence etc.

    Good luck!

I find snippets of the motivations I drafted for clients all over this country.

This will certainly assist me in the future as well when I apply for mine - thank you!

Is it a problem if one applies for a 9mmP for Section 15 if you already have a 9mmP Section 13?

What are you going to use the second one for?
Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.
