Yeti...just to add onto what we were saying. It is also true that in the eastern cape at least,we still have many hundreds of thousands of ha where the indiginous game such as kudu can move around and this has enabled them to move to areas,along with water now being available,where they have not occured before.The boffins reckon there are more game animals in the eastern cape than at any other time in history and kudu are on the increase despite hunting pressure.As more and more farmers erect game fences,this movement will become more and more limited.We also have large tracts of land that a person simply cannot access due to thick bush/mountains ect, and i reckon that plenty of animals in these wild places live undisturbed their whole lives.These animals include kudu,bushbuck ect,but surprisingly we are seeing more and more "strange to the farmers",animals occuring on open farms,which have got out from who knows where and are also getting into these wilderness areas.These include species not native to our area such as waterbuck,nyala,gemsbuck ect.....intresting times...
