where to join a shhoting club and which club?

good day all,

I decided that despite horrendous licencing delays i want to join a club. i can start working toward dedicated status and have some fun.

I dont know where the ranges and clubs are? I live either in kylami or with the folks in Hennops river, a place close to either will be great? are there places close by?

also what do i join? IDPA SADPA or what? which is best?

so many questions!

other problem is i will be needing to occasionaly borrow a firearm to shoot? are they rentable at some places or will i need to borrow from a fellow member? bearing in mind i dont personally know someone who shoots.

I would really appreciate some advice?

Do I just join sadpa and or idpa? or do i need to join a range too?

Vaughan you need to join a club (about R350-R1200 / year depending on the club) and SADPA (R350 / year) which is affiliated to IDPA.
For you the Gauteng clubs are Alberton (GCDPC), Roodepoort (JDPC), Centurion (CDPC), Pretoria East (PDPC) or Witbank (WDPC). Join the nearest club, which in your case will be CDPC, and then shoot there and at any of the other clubs you fancy.

Have a look at the SADPA website as Khumba suggested which should give you most of the answers you are looking for. Contact the club representative and ask them the questions.

The next SADPA shoot is a league at JDPC on Saturday 17 April starting at 12:00. Look at the website for directions and come have a look. You will probably see many of the Gunsiters at the shoot. The one talking the loudest will probably be Paul so ask him all the difficult questions.
