Good day members, I spend time this weekend to organise and fit all my forging /sanding machines, post vises and drill machines on a heavy large steel table in my garage..I am now set to focus a lot on forging work, conducting forging classes...I need to build two more one gas burner forges to have five forges running when I conduct classes....I will commencing with a build of another 2" x 72" inch belt sanding machine..this machine will run with a 2 HP motor , sourced from one of my wood work machines , radial arm saw , I re-purposed for this project.. my aim is to build an extremely accurate belt sanding machine to grind knife blade plunch lines into the blade

Good members, I am having some time available to spend on forging work again..currently I am in the process of building a new blade sanding machine..this time I bought all the wheels and bolts to complete the build shortly..I need this belt grinder to be very accurate in cutting plunge-lines into the blade ...meanwhile I am busy with a mini chopper camp knife ...phase one is completed , forging the design into the piece of leaf spring steel...now I need to do the second phase , forging the bevels onto the blade ...then phase three : cleaning up the blade , hardening and tempering the blade, then phase four : attaching the handle..

Did forge another camp chopper/hunting knife and made a kitchen knife as well..steel used for the chopper is leaf spring , for the kitchen knife I used saw blade steel ...Will fit handles tomorrow, I think Weeping Boer Bean wood and Rhodesian Teak will look good ,,
