Re: Mastercraft or Gedore tools?
Have had a Mastercraft set for 6 years with farm use... no issues so far.
Having said that if I had the money at the time I bought it would have been Snap-on

Re: Mastercraft or Gedore tools?
I had a Mastercraft no 17 socket which cracked. Can be exchanged at either Makro or Builder's Warehouse. I bought mines at Makro more than 10 years ago. It was exchanged at Builders warehouse. No questions asked.

Re: Mastercraft or Gedore tools?
Yea, I was looking at that Makro special today. I only really need pliers at the moment but those are 1k alone for three. Makes that kit seem really good value. I guess it is a good idea to have the other tools at hand as well.

Re: Mastercraft or Gedore tools?
I have a Mastercraft set and have had no issues with it, but in all fairness Gedore is in a completely different league.

The old gedore spanners were great , new sets seems softer, maybe
I got a bad run.
Aren't they S.A. made now ?

A friend of mine works for gedore, most stuff still made here in Durban, some items are imported! Lifetime no BS warranty!

Re: Mastercraft or Gedore tools?
I've cracked a Gedore #19 socket on a stubborn crank pulley bolt on my Honda. Replaced it with a Mastercraft one and it still works.
Currently my toolkit is split about 33/33/33 with Gedore, Mastercraft and Ampro with a couple of Stahlwille spanners just for good measure.
