"A civilian shot at the suspects and the suspects retaliated. As a result, another civilian was shot and wounded"

Because the robbers were rational people who would under no circumstance would endanger the lives of their victims and bystanders if not provoke.

Surprise surprise, the media blames the legal firearm owner instead of the criminals.

Whatever happened to the ideals of objective reporting? Or even pretending to be unbiased...

Expect this to be the single data point GFSA and their ilk use to extrapolate to show that armed civilians in shopping malls are a big problem. Don't expect any mention of the many instances where firearms were successfully used in shopping malls. Off the top of my head I remember an incident posted on this forum where a family member of a forum member defended himself during a jewellery store robbery. Think it was in The Grove in Pretoria. Probably countless others.

I avoid news24 like the plague these days.

They are extremely anti-gun and from my experience they seem to intentionally post as much negative news articles as they can possibly find.
Also plenty of regurgitated click-bait articles on their site.

call them out via private message on facebook

i did when the journalist turned the giba gorge story from a successful self defense result into "police found two victims stabbed"

    Good job.

I think we as a community should be doing this every time a journalist manipulates a story (or headline) to suite certain agenda's.

Yeah it seems in most news24 articles it's the fucking perps (that occasionally get their arses handed to them) who are made out to be the "victims" while the law abiding civilians who defend themselves (or their property) are the scum.
