Primary use would be for IDPA, but I'm sure the mag ext. would fix this. I'll give it a bit of thought, but I am gravitating towards a G17. Thanks Thorkind!

If I look at your intended use...the G17 would be a better choice. Glock is one of those things that are build like a block but work. You will get use to it so soon that you will forget about the 'negatives' and I would say that your concern would disappear before you even know it. However if you really do not feel comfortable with the G19...let it slide as it is no use to buy it and go through all the crap and it is not what you want.

You definitely can't go wrong with the G17 as SSP, BigT, Khumba and Corne can attest to.

During my escapades I worked in a gunshop for years.
My carry gun was a GL19 at the time and several customers liked it.
Glock was relatively new on the market.

When the GL27 became available and I upgraded to it.
The same customers who praised the 19 shot the 27 down because of the shorter grip causing the fifth finger to float.
Essentially the pistol was securely gripped by three fingers and the thumb.

This was a major issue and still is to many.
My reply was always that it is a pistol and not a recliner.(comfort was not the issue)

I finally had enough and took three of the biggest loadmouths to the range.
I placed four loaded Glocks in front of them on a table and got each of them to fire five rounds with my 19 then immediately five rounds with the 27 and then five rounds with my GL20 that factored at 217.

They were all in agreement that the GL20 kicked like a mule compared to the others.
When I asked them about the lack of grip on the 27 they all answered the same: DID NOT EVEN NOTICE IT, SO

if you re not wasting time in a gunshop holding onto the grip of a 26/27 19/23 and judging the comfort of the grip(which is unimportant) you would not even notice it

R500-00 I think you are forgetting a few zero's there... for that price I'd be a member of the tupperware clan with one for every day of the week...
