    The BG shot as they fled what does that mean if the victim shoots and kills the robber with a wound in the back? As it would be hard to prove your life is in danger from a BG running away.

    Not really - him shooting still is an attack, even though he might not be facing in the direction of his attack. It has been discussed a few times.
