Default South Africa fed the empire ammo in WW2

If memory serves the Union of South Africa 30% of all .303 ammo used by imperial forces during WWII. Just a cool titbit. I'll find s reference if anyone needs.

I read somewhere PMP produced 750 million .303 rounds during WW2, think was in a PMP promotion vid. Wish we could still find some of those surplus rounds.

I know where there are plenty of .303 rounds, probably some from that production run. How long can you hold your breath?

Don't think PMP was around then, iirc the ammo was made at the mint.

You really DON'T want it. Cordite burns hot and stuffs up the bore of whatever you are feeding it to.

PMP was established as a result of WWII and South Africa's drastic and rapid industrialisation from 1938. Many of the parastatals we know are war babies. Iscor, Telkom, etc. I'll find exact dates. If anyone is keen I'll write an article for GS.
