Default Rock and Surf fishing spots western cape

    Morning guys.

Which areas are decent, not too populated for the above in the western cape say 100km radius of C.T?

Being relatively new here i have no idea. I see a lot of kelp around CT. Have heard melkbos is okay. Is east or west of CT better than the other etc?

Being from the E.C i had everything on my doorstep. I need to plan a little better now it seems.

Species wise im not to fussy. Anything from Kob to the Bream species. Its more about trying to relax...

This. If you go fishing, take a buddy or two with and E.D.C. especially if fishing Macassar towards Muzenberg. Most R&S fishing is along the False Bay shore, fishing for Kob etc. From Macassar all the way down to Muzenberg and beyond. If you can get to the shore near the 12 Apostles Hotel, there are very nice reef fish (Big Red Romans etc) along the shore there.

Depends very much time of year and weather conditions on the day.

Our favourite spot is at Hangklip with the (very) small rubber duck but there are awesome rock fishing spots as well especially near Maanskynbaai. Just standing looking out over Maanskynbaai immediately relaxes you.

The best surf fishing is for cob at Macassar, but as mentioned not very safe; go with at least 5 other guys who all EDC.

Up the West Coast from Cape Town to at least Melkbos I think are mostly fished out and the shoreline ecosystem destroyed by pollution.

BTW 15 October looking to be an awesome day/evening for fishing.

Thanks guys. Its a slow process but looking to start around Dec. I would like to fish away from CT and surrounds so it looks like east side of strand as far as i want to go will be a start. Believe it or not i need not catch a fish, have caught my share, but it relaxes me. I dont think i could relax around Macassar and the surrounds. Hooking something is a perk, stairing over the ocean in the hopes of hooking something is much needed soul therapy.
