The assailant driver and a passenger got out of their car and approached our member and his student (our member could not effect an escape since the learner was driving the car). Our member drew his firearm, and held it next to his leg, warning off the assailants. The assailants hurried back to their car and sped off to report our member (first for pointing a firearm, and then, bizarrely, for trying to rob them of their motor vehicle). It is important to note that CPF members who were on scene bore out our member's version (as did his driving student).

JMPD refused to consider our member's version of events and arrested our member. They transported him to Roodepoort SAPS where the SAPS members similarly refused to consider our member's version.

GOSA appointed attorneys who were on scene within an hour and secured our member's release on police bail later that night. The attorneys prepared a compelling argument to present to the Senior State Prosecutor on Monday resulting in a decision of nolle prosecui.

GOSA will be taking two main steps now:

    a) to use this as a case study and object lesson for the JMPD and the SAPS to avoid their needless damaging actions in future, and

    b) recovering our damages from said parties (where applicable) to drive the lesson home.

PS. we have already paid the lawyers on their invoice.
Well done, please do not let go of either points a or b and keep us posted.

It is time these stupid, ignorant fuckers realize they cant just go and make a claim that is false, cops must also be put in their place.

BTW, just submitted membership application for Diamond level + Bail

I have received the final draft of the SLA/Master Policy Doc and need to review and check it before I sign off.

I still need to finish my briefing doc for the call centre staff.

I have just come out of a detailed (check every serial number of every gun) SAPS/dealers inspection, and have not had a chance to get to my GOSA work for the last few days. Mea culpa.

I will only feel confident to release the 24 hr tollfree call centre number after I have properly briefed the operators.
