Default MP / StG 44 showing up in Syria

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...m_campaign=rss

TFB reported on these earlier but a correspondent has surprisingly emailed TFB with more details and pictures. Apparently the FSA captured something like 5000 of these things.

    The mind boggles.

The older story I am aware of but the photographs in the newer article on mind-boggling! One wonders where on earth they dug the stuff up.

i wonder if they know how much money (for modern rifles) they could get if they instead sold the STG44s.

Unfortunately I doubt anywhere would allow imports of full auto assault rifles, especially the "blood diamond" equivalent of weapons of war to fund more weapons.

Apparently they also manufacture the ammo in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

As one example, there's a MP44 / StG 44 coming up for auction next month here in NZ, the condition described as VGWO and the estimate is between NZD 6000-8000.

BAR19's in the US go for $30k
I'm sure an STG would reach similar prices.
