i dont think it has to with the quality of the build so much as i want to look after said rifle and be prepared, i changed the recoil spring on my cz 75 p07, yes it had done 6000 rounds but it was a R75.00 part so why not?
id be happy to have a spare piston, bolt, springs etc all happily sitting in my safe should i ever need one :)

obviously my handguns recoil spring was changed due to doing said round count, but ill change the ak recoil spring tomorrow if its a cheap part, and ill buy a wolf spring if i know who sells them

Some parts are nigh impossible to find, such as a bolt or entire BCG. I've searched. Pistons you're probably running the ITAR gauntlet. Power Custom do aftermarket replacement pistons. Be aware that most AK pistons are not screw in replacements - they are riveted in place. Bringing us back to damaging the BCG.
