    Update:
I am currently stitching the velskoene together and after work I am taking the Westley Richards Martini Henry specially made for the ZAR apart to clean it up and get it ready to shoot it. It is a painstaking procedure..I am labelling every part I take off and clean it. Johan Greyling is making his 1870 era double rifles shooting ..he is making brass for these very old black powder double rifles and cast bullets for it to hunt with.
Here is a photo of a W&C Scott & Son double rifle:

Johan Greyling has several of them, all Damascus rifles..he has a beautiful Holland & Holland black powder side x side 20 ga shotgun as well...a lot of Cape Guns ....I will upload a photo of the rifles we are taking to the black powder hunt.
I spend some time today to take the Martini Henry, Westley Richards Improved specially made for the ZAR , apart , I removed the action block today , cleaning it up as well as cleaned the bore today..the rifling looks pretty good, excellent is a better description....When this operation is completed I will take it to my friends farm and start shooting it at 80 meters...

I did have time today to spend on taking apart and cleaning the Martini Henry. Here are a few photos of the process. I am sure this rifle will be accurate and will serve me well at the Black Powder hunt..

    Update:
Members I managed to clean the rifle and put it back together ..it really is working fine to extract the brass cases..the difficulty is that it has been shot a minimal..all the machine marks on the parts is still visible, the chamber is extremely tight and the rifling extremely proud and new..the Martini Henry rounds does not fit in the chamber and I gave it to Johan Greyling since they fit in his Martini Henry sporting rifle. I do have Martini Henry brass and bullets ( from Hansie Minnaar ) that I will use to re-load..Hansie Minnaar send me a re-loading set to do just that...I will therefore start re-loading next week and zeroing the Martini Henry ...naturally I will upload the whole process....

In the meantime I bought Martini Henry brass converted from 20ga Shotgun brass by a member from our forum...

Finkelstein who told me to cut the brass to 59mm since it was 62mm ..and too long to re-load with...this was difficult , I do not have any equipment to do it..so as always I ask Johan Greyling to assist....

this is what Johan Greyling did to solve my problem...:I will upload photos about this cutter..it really works beautifully....

I made a jig to hold the shotgun brass and ran it into the disc grinder. I got good consistent lemgths and made the rest of the resising to Martini dimensions much easier.

Here are photos of the cutter made for me by Johan Greyling. This definitely will be one of the many specialised tools to get the Martini Henry rifles shooting still to come. From now on I will be taking the Martini Henry hunting every time I have an opportunity..the re-loading die set, Lee die set will be arriving this week .... Cellphone photos..not the best quality but you will get the idea..
    The Cutter in the toolpost:

Pressing the MH brass onto the spindle in the chuck..press fit to stabilize..

No, Wandering Zero, not grease packed, rust covered, was standing in a old farm house store for forty years, the previous owner told me he remembered his father shot the rifle once when he was a young man..when his father passed away he took the MH and store it in a cupboard for all these years..the rifle still has severe rust on the top of it`s barrel....and I really removed a lot of soil/dust and grime from the action , barrel and surface of the rifle.. I now need to get it to shoot functional enough to hunt with it...Johan said he think this rifle belonged to a "joiner" during the war..since it looked like it was not shot...

Thank you very much Gert. It is a good thing that you are rescuing that rifle! You refer to a "joiner". Was the Martini Henry used very much by the Boers during the course of the South African War (Anglo Boer War)? If so, I am not really aware of it but then again, I am not as well read on the Anglo Boer War as I am on some other subjects.
