Re: Cape Town - Rifle Rust-Free Storage?
Best thing I've used so far is , i think its called " the absorber" or something.
Clear plastic container with a colored plastic mesh top.
It has small balls of calcium chloride as the main ingredient IIRC.
The container has 2 levels, the top level holds the calcium chloride.
The moisture in the safe or room is wicked through the mesh on top of the container and into the calcium chloride, converting it into water and then this water collects at the bottom level of container.
It works brilliantly, and usually lasts for well over a month.
Its usually around R20 on special at Checkers.
You can get the scented or unscented variants as well.

Much neater, cleaner and less fuss than using other means.
Also, it's pretty damn effective

If you can wire a 40W bulb inside, the heat dries out the safe. Cat litter - the crystals - also works.

Here's another - same thing: http://shop.pnp.co.za/b2c_pnp/catalo...0080000A050131
Use it and turf it when it's full.
