Summer kudu
I'm off to hunt a kudu next week.. any advice on hunting one this part of the year?

Depending on area the advise will differ. A windy day is supposed to be better because they don't hear too well.
Get the meat cold asap.

Kudu is very susceptible to hair slip, if you plan to keep the skin or have a mount done go buy a bag or two of salt now and take it into the veld with you if you are going to be delayed getting it back to skinning shed. you can cape it in situ and salt it immediately.

Make sure of your ability to get said animal out and too cooler on any part of farm. No good shooting and finding your two helpers should have been 8 to get animal up kloof to vehicle.

Thanks guys for the advice , we will be out at first light hopefully they will not be in the thick bush, it will be in umkomaas valley. Hoping to find a young bull.

Reviving an old thread here,
last year at this time we planned a kudu hunt, we set off fo the hunt and unfortunately didnt manage a kudu. we did however shoot some impala. the advice here was golden and we will be using it again.
next week we will be giving it another try. hope we get the Grey Ghost this time!
