Toy gun robber shot four times
http://rekordeast.co.za/117834/toy-g...ot-four-times/
Two armed robbers got a shock of their lives when the victim called their bluff.
The men had ambushed a 28-year-old man on the N4 towards Bronkhorspruit on Friday, and were about to rob him at gunpoint. But the 28-year-old pulled out his own gun and shot one robber four times in his right leg as he tried to flee.
“The 28-year-old was waiting for his lift home,” said Silverton police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato. “He was attacked from behind and forced to drop to the ground and put his money next to him. “As the 26-year-old attacker reached for the cash, the victim pulled out his gun and shot him in the leg.”
Sepato said the other man fled leaving his accomplice bleeding at the scene. “Police were alerted and 26-year-old was arrested and taken to hospital where he is under heavy police guard. “His firearm was later discovered to be a toy.” He said the 26-year-old would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court once fit to stand trial.

Re: Toy gun robber shot four times
What is this "tried to flee" bullshit?
Were the hits to the rear of his legs or are we just adding to the story?

Why 4 in the leg?
Maybe the first round in the leg to create space, the other 3 should have been center mass.

Re: Toy gun robber shot four times
If I'm not mistaken (I remember seeing this article last week), this incident actually happened a few weeks ago, possibly a month ago already. I remember it specifically because a robber had his ass handed to him after trying to rob someone with a toy gun.
The journalist is trying to add sensation to the article. The robber was busy picking up the stuff when he got shot. So by that logic, the attack is far from over - the (almost) victim is not out of danger yet.

Why only 4 shots? When they asked the SAS trooper way back why he shot the IRA terrorist in Malta 15 times, he simply answered "I ran out of bullets". Shoot until you are satisfied that the threat is past.
