    Actually this is quite accurate.
Wittman was probably the world's best tank commander in existence and his exploits are well documented.

Not really. It was yet another and massive failing of the nazi state. They kept their men in action until killed, unlike the allies who used a quota system to rotate experienced veterans ball to home to train new recruits.

    The Nazis were idiots.

Some research might shed more light on his exploits. They are quite well documented. Part of his sucessses can be attributed to his crew, including a highly skilled gunner. He was one of the very few who could hit his target while his own tank was moving. All this was done manually then, without the modern stabilization systems that tank crews use these days.

It is true that the "Nazi" authorities (read the mad man in charge) expected his men to sacrifice themselves in the fight against overwhelming odds. The tank crew and figther pilot aces' acheivements are well documanted. Compare these to their allied counterparts. Check the score board.

Also interesting is the careers of the surviving aces after the war. Many went on to work for their former enemies and made their marks there.

So said my Kiwi brothers to me when I explained the exploits of 1 Para Bn and SF units at the Battle of Bangui, until I linked them to the account penned by Helmoed-Römer Heitman.
